Your Feng-Shui Kitchen

For Feng Shui fans, the kitchen is the heart of the house, where the whole family gathers around the table, at the same time being the energy center of the house.
This is why we thought to give you some Feng-Shui tips for the kitchen, this being an area as important as any other.
Even if for most of us the living-room is the area on which we mostly focus, where we welcome our guests and where we "live" the main events of our family live, for Feng Shui devotees things are quite different.
They believe that kitchen is actually, the centre of the house, because this is the place where food is cooked, people's source of energy.
Thus, the kitchen becomes, symbolically, the energy centre of the house and for the whole family.
An important Feng-Shui principle is cleaning, so you should first and foremost keep the kitchen clean.

Water and fire

These two elements are found in any kitchen: the fire is Yang, and the water is Yin.
We need them to prepare food, but we must consider that these two items should be separated: never place the heater near the bowl basin (or on the same wall).

The heater and prosperity

In Feng Shui the heater represents prosperity resulting from your work, and must always be kept clean.
Make sure that all the gas cooker burners are working perfectly. Otherwise, do not be amazed if your salary is not as big as the effort and that the money you earn is spent on trifles! Even if you don't cook too often, always avoid using the same burner so as not to limit your earning possibilities.
Fix a mirror on the wall behind the heater enabling you to see people coming in the kitchen while you are cooking.
This way, you won't be taken by surprise and your food will always be delicious. What is the connection?
They say that the cook's mood influences the taste and that any negative emotion may prove to be detrimental.
In Feng Shui, the heater represent prosperity and the result of your work, therefore it must be always kept clean.

• If you like flowers, for decorating the kitchen choose only natural flowers.
• Don't allow the trash to be seen
• Do not hang up sharp objects (especially knives) and don't display them (they destroy energy and represent danger for the family).
